2023 School of Internet Governance, Ghana proposal
Introduction
The Ghana Internet Governance Fellowship Program is an initiative aimed at introducing, promoting knowledge, in internet governance among Ghanaians including rural grassroots community members, students, professionals and non-professionals covering the 16 regions of Ghana. The program seeks to create a pool of internet governance actors in Ghana who can contribute and engage to the development of a safe, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystem in the country.
Program Description
The program will be a six-week online training and mentorship program that will cover topics such as internet governance frameworks, cybersecurity, data protection, digital rights, and internet access and affordability, among others. The program will be divided into four modules, with each module comprising online lectures, case studies, and assessments. Participants will also be assigned mentors who will provide guidance and support throughout the programme.
Selected participants will be required to complete all the modules and assessments within the six weeks. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be invited to attend an onsite final that will take place during the week of the Ghana Internet Governance Forum (IGF). At the onsite final, participants will recap and present their case studies to a panel of experts. A fellowship certificate will be issued to all participants upon successful completion of the program.
