Brief Bio

Maame Sarpong is a legal practitioner and the managing partner of G.A Sarpong and Co, an Accra based law firm. She is an academic and researcher with a keen focus on Internet Governance, ICT law, and digital rights policy. With extensive experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance and arbitration, Maame has advised on key legal frameworks shaping Ghana’s digital economy. Her work spans data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce regulationsand the intersection of law and emerging technologies.

As a lecturer and researcher, Maame actively contributes to policy discussions on digital inclusion, stakeholder collaboration in Internet governance and the legal dimensions of ICT development. Her expertise in corporate finance and due diligence further supports their role in shaping regulatory frameworks for tech-driven enterprises.

As a member of the Ghana IGF Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG), Maame is committed to fostering inclusive, transparent, and sustainable digital policies that advance Internet access, digital rights, and cybersecurity governance in Ghana.

She is keen on ensuring a rights-based, multi-stakeholder approach to Internet policy development, positioning Ghana as a leader in Africa’s digital transformation.
