Brief Bio
Maud Adjeley Ashong Elliot is a distinguished academic, technology policy advocate, and digital rights champion with extensive experience in information systems, cybersecurity, and internet governance. She serves as the President of the Internet Society Ghana Chapter, making history as the first female to hold this position. Maud is a Lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). Her expertise spans internet governance, cybersecurity policy, and digital inclusion, having contributed to various national and international discussions on digital rights and critical infrastructure protection.
She has been instrumental in shaping Ghana’s Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and has served as a Steering Committee Member. A dedicated mentor, she actively promotes STEM education, particularly for women and youth, and advocates for the early introduction of programming languages in education.
Maud is a Fellow of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and an active member of global internet governance communities. Through her leadership, Maud continues to champion policies that foster an inclusive, secure, and open internet, reinforcing Ghana’s position in the global digital economy.
